Spilfyter's Railroad sorbent was designed for railroad refueling and maintenance areas, which are being increasingly scrutinized for possible ground saturation by hazardous liquids. The railroad product is a tri-laminate of double weight oil adsorbent, black needle punch polypropylene, and a plastic film. The entire product is non-wettable (will not adsorb water, will adsorb hydrocarbons: oil, fuel, etc. )
Tropic Sorb
Tropic Sorb is 100% Organic Coconut Coir, what is Coconut Coir? The Coir is the material left over when the bristle fiber and the long fiber have been removed from the coconut husk. The average husk contains 10% bristle fiber and 20% long fiber for making ropes, mats and fishing nets. The left over material (Coir) was considered waste and disposed of. Over a number of years it was discovered that Coir was an excellent soil amendment.
More recently, Coir was dicovered and tested as an absorbent of oils and a multitude of other liquids. Coir is a 100% renewable resource, and it is an evironmentally suitable absorbent as well as a soil amendment.
NEW Tropic Sorb Pellets, over 3 cubic feet pelletized to 1 cubic feet.
Tropic Sorb takes over nine years to break down and to be part of the earth again, in the meantime that gives mother nature enough time to eat up the hydrocarbons the Coir is holding.
Tropic Sorb absorbs ink, paint, gasoline, oil, water and oil floating on water.
Tropic Sorb has passed the filter test for land fills.
Tropic Sorb can also be disposed of in the SmartAsh Burn System.
